Wow, what a welcome!

Yea, I swapped Maidstone for sunny Oz, discovered Oz when I was in the merchant navy studying navigation back in the early '60s.

Comet ikeya seki in 1965 was what fired my interest in astronomy.

No the moon doesn't look any different down here! but the constellations sure do, they call Orion 'the suacepan' down here, everythings upside down! But some of the southern deep sky objects are fabulous. Start up Stellarium or whatever, change your latitude to -37° degrees and see what you're all missing!

I'm on a 5 acre property 80km north of Melbourne in Victoria, pretty clear skies, but we are under the flight path of planes going into Melbourne airport. Check me out on Google Earth, 37° 13' 40" S 144° 28' 30" E
