My mom has a static caravan on a small site just the other side of Welshpool and when i was there in November last year,i managed to see the Milky Way by eye....it was absolutely stunning to see so many stars so clearly! It's not a million miles away from you so if you get a free clear evening(do they exist everyone says!!!) i'd say its worth a lil ride over there.

I used to go to a farm site near there but access has become difficult, are you able to suggest any good sites near you, I am in Wolverhampton and there are lots of us all looking for good observing sites. Try Wolves AS as your nearest club or look at the Perton Library Astro group
