Uranus with a 20" Planewave DK

Greetings all,

I just thought I'd share some recent drawings of Uranus I made with the University of Leicester's 20" Planewave DK. They were made in IL and with a W#25A (red) and W#80A (blue) filters. Some markings are discernable including a brighter EZ, some banding. I strongly urge anyone with an 8" 'scope or larger to observe the planet regularly.

I'm amazed that it's possible to see so much detail. If the cloud lifts before I reach my dotage I shall certainly get the dob out and have another look for it.

thats exellent observing and drawing. i viewed uranus for the first time recently,showed as a fuzzy green/blue haze abit like a planetary nebula ( i see where the name comes from now ) but those drawings are superb.

Many thanks I observe Uranus as often as possible; it is now on my planetary observing program and I treat it in the same way as the other planets. There's something fantastic about this world, and it deserves our attention!

Brilliant drawings. Ive only seen Uranus once via a friends goto, amazing to think when we saw it is look only slightly bigger than a star, but those drawings bring out the beauty
