Another thing to consider too is the equipment people are likely to be using,some objects are better in binoculars and some need 12"+ in aperture to apreciate them fully but i would probably pick M31 and its satelite Galaxies ..... stunning.

A bit too far south for U.K. observers but the Omega Globular (NGC 5139) in Centaurus but since the list is going to observers around the globe... A naked eye object, fine in bins and superb in any size scope.

M35 in Gemini.

The North American Nebula in Cygnus.
