My first widefield Dso

Really pleased with this and I physically laughed out loud in the garden when I realised I had found m31 and caught it in the first frame.

I am also trying to capture the milky way above my house which was clearly visible but the clouds keep ruining my attempts!

Are there any other 'easy' targets I can attempt at this time of year?

The milky way is proving slightly elusive because clouds keep ruining my attempts...

M31 really does stick out like a sore thumb once you find it. I have a similar image taken with the same lens. It can only get better the more frames you add to it.

Wait a bit and you can aim for M42 to get it at its best.

The double cluster in between Cassiopeia and Perseus, perhaps? The Pleiades, too.

I managed to get M27 in a widefield shot i took of Cygnus. If i zoomed right in on the photo I could see a tiny blue hazy blob with slightly red edges.

if the clouds ever decide to play fair then you'll get a bucket load of dso's in the milky way around sag,scorpius

Nice images, widefield is something im just starting to get into. How many frames did you take if mulitple etc, i really love seeing M31 in there.

Great job! I had one of those wow-moments not long ago.

I realised I needed to examine my pictures better after I failed to spot M31 in my first set of widefield. It wasn't until after I was out actually hunting for M31 with my 105mm until I realised it was there all along in my 18 and 55mm stuff.
