Saturn May 12th final process.

Settled with this image from the 12th. Ran through PIPP then Ninnox before stacking best 4700 in AS!2.

Auto Dob + DFK + 5x Powermate = f26

10.44pm May 12th.

Good contrast, only under calmer air do you get that extra contrast. Nice image

PIPP and Ninox are both used to select and process the captured frames before they are processed by the stacking software. They both also perform quality selection which in some cases can produce better results that using stacking software alone.

Very nice Stuart .... you have managed to keep the crepe ring intact ... I nearly always lose a good percentage of it in processing.

Thanks fellas! Still not 100% happy with the colour balance those rings are still too blue.

Final final process! This was using 100% normalize in as!2 giving more vibrant luminance. Colour balance better on this too I feel.

1.5X drizzle then reduced 85%

1.5 drizzle and then reducing the size is an interesting idea, what was the purpose of that - does it result in a sharper image?

Drizzle tends to increase the noise level Chris though this can be fixed using de-noise and then reducing the size back down a little just makes it look that bit smoother and sharper. I've found in as!2 when drizzle is not used the image can look a bit over cooked (cassini can look too thick) after wavelets if seeing is good.
