White light Sun 5th May

Montana

Recommended Posts

I have been extremely lucky today to catch my much loved white light Sun. I had a lot of cloud but the seeing was 50/50, sometimes excellent sometimes bad. I'm really happy as this is the first good session of the year.

Taken with 140mm refractor / Baader Herschel Wedge & Continuum filter / DMK41 and either a 5x powermate or 3x Barlow.

Thanks dtr and Biz ;)

dtr - I forgot that the titles are what show in these links, my description does not. The first 4 pictures are of AR11471, the next two are AR11469, the last two pictures are of an unnamed (currently) region in the NE.

Kind regards

Alexandra

Stone the crows, I'm impressed! I had a guest bring a Hershel Wedge along and we put it in a 102 apo. It really did sing. More spending? Very likely!

Is your 140 a TEC?

Olly

Steady on Olly, you know how it is. If you go ordering a wedge now you'll end up getting a call from a chap in a rain forest asking where you are.

Thanks everyone ;)

Olly - yes

Don't know how I managed to find the sun yesterday, I set up this morning and the moment I sat down to image, the Sun went in and never came out again. That was a waste of time
