Hello all, I have a very kind wife that has just ordered me a Skywatcher Skyhawk 1145P for my birthday next week and I'm like a giddy little 2yr old today!

I've been browsing this site recently so thought this would be a good time to sign up and join the community.

I always liked astronomy and physics at school but like others, posting here, was inspired by the recent stargazing series.

I think clear skies are forecast for this weekend so I just hope my present arrives and I'm allowed to open it before my birthday!!

no not realy because that will form anyway lol. if you let your scope cool for an hour or more equalibrian.(ambient temperature if you like) it reduces heat currents in side your scope which you will see at the eye piece. happens more at high power(magnification) when viewing planets double stars e.t.c.
