Moonshane
Hi allI am concluding that the 1.25" R&P focuser on my fast 6" Newtonian should be replaced as soon as funds allow. I thought about one of the cheaper dual speeds (e.g. Revelation or the Skywatcher MN190 replacement at £100) which I am very happy with on my other newtonians or even a top end of the price range (for me) Baader Steeltrack at £185. I then noticed you can get a single speed Moonlite for £149 from FLO (I can make my own base so don't need the fitting kit at £37!!)).So what would you do and why?CheersShane
Uplooker
Hi Shane,I suspect that if you are used to a dual speed focuser you will miss it, regardless of whether or not it is a MoonliteIan
nightfisher
I have a dual speed on my 150mm f5 frac and really like it (skywatcher) but the single on my 100rs is a joy to use, its down to you Shane as to what you prefer

Luke
I love the steeltracks, the usual Baader good quality and not too insane price. I'd want the dual speed for imaging and also for visual because the missus and I have to tweak the focus when we swap places at the eyepiece, and the dual speed makes that pretty easy to get bang on quickly.
