From the archives: The Veil nebula complex with a OSC camera

For every image that goes into my SGL albums I bet I have 10 that never see the light of day again. For instance if the session was cut short, or some subs were ruined, or I just forget about them :)

I have several images half processed and not put into my Kelling Heath Star Party 2011 album. This was one of the images I just found, and there's a few more which I will hopefully get around to posting this weekend.

It is the Veil Nebula complex, which just about squeezes into the FOV when using my Borg 77ED and QHY8 camera. Due to the chronic light pollution where I live I rarely use the OSC at home, as even with a CLS LP filter it still gives heavy difficult to remove gradients. However at Kelling Heath you can get away with no LP filter if the targets are high enough in the sky.

14 x 10 minute subs on Oct 1st.

Full size version available for download (6.6mb) here.

Thanks for looking.
