So, Where can i send them to get them re-collimated? It is not something I am willing to attempt myself <hamfisted>

I believe Telescope House the UK No.1 for Telescopes and Binoculars since 1785 have a good reputation for repairs.

Which ones? If it's the Lidls it's definitely not worth the cost. If the Skymasters probably not.

Have you tried unscrewing the cones and screwing them back in? It could just have knocked one of the threads out.

Hi Sarah. Sorry you have this problem. If the bins are the ones in your signature, then it's cheaper to replace than repair.

However, those 15x70s have collimation screws, and if it were me, I'd try a DIY fix using this link “Collimating” Binoculars - How To nothing to lose I think.

Sarah, I'm with Ed on this. It's not hard to collimate a pair of bino's (I've done three pairs now, Lidl 10x50's, Skymaster 15x70's and Revelation 20x80's). Just take it slowly and carefully... you'll be fine.

my sympathies! my little boy yanked my big zoom binos on to the floor when he was going for the cat. i had to run out of the house, put my fist in my mouth and cry like a girl

I would also try the 10 x 50's. I have just taken apart some bins and re-collimated them using tin foil..very fiddly but it was possible...

It's the Skymasters, If it had been the lidl pair i'd have probably taken them to bits by now but the skymasters are a bit more precious.

I will have a look at the link Ed and see how I get on, I don't suppose I can break them any more than they are at the moment..

Antx, I learned my lesson too. I'd left them on the window sil and came across them in the toy box with a dulplo horse wedged in between the thingys a couple of days later - what they have been up to in that time is anyones guess. Thankfully, and surprisingly the lenses seem fine but they must have taken a bash.

I should have known better, the boy is into everything!
