Hi Folks!

New to the forum (this is my first post) but have been ambling along with stargazing for about a year now and thoroughly enjoying it. :icon_confused:

Proud owner of a small number of scopes (Skymax 127 Mak, 8" Dob (1990 Beaconhill Built with Orion Optics coated mirrors), Celestron Firstscope (bought for the kids!) and a mint condition - not yet been out of the box - TAL-M) and a pair of Opticron 8 x 42 binos.

Live in Coventry with moderate light pollution from back garden but still plenty to see.

Looking forward to participating in a few forum discussions. Thanks to all for help and advice/information so far (I read alot!)

Hi Gary,

Welcome to the forum. I am also new here and excited to be a part of SS forum as I found many informative threats here. I will try to be active to learn more from here and to make some friends also. Hope to see you active around.

Nice to see a fellow Coventrian around here, there is another one knocking around as well I think but I can't think of his name for the life of me.

Nice scope collection there, I will be starting my collection in either January for February, depending when I can get the funds together..hehe

Welcome to SGL Gary,

I also live in Coventry (Baginton) so know exactly what you mean about the light pollution. I have to say it does seem a little better since they started replacing all the lamposts though. Half decent results are still possible though as I'm sure you know :icon_confused:
