Is it a bird, is it a plane?

According to Orbitron and the latest TLE data from Amsat there is a 15min orbit segment over UK this evening.

Starts at 21:30 (Local time not GMT) AZ 263deg (from Runcorn), ends at 21:45 AZ 94deg.

Should rise to approx 62deg Elevation due South at about 21:38.

Hopefully the clouds will be somewhere else for a change.

Maybe worth a shot with a camera if it's clear.

Cheers

Dave

Hi again,

Sorry about the weather. Too many clouds here. Hope someone got a view.

Tomorrow's passes. Based on Orbitron predictions and latest Amsat TLE data.

1st pass.

Start 19:40 (Local time) AZ 245deg (West ish)

Centre (South) Elevation 41deg

End 19:50 AZ 84deg (East ish)

2nd pass.

Start 21:15 (Local time) AZ 269deg (West)

Centre (South) Elevation 64deg

End 21:26 AZ 100deg (East ish)

Hope it is clearer than tonight.

As stated, I use Orbitron, for my Amateur radio moon bounce system, available from.. Satellite Tracking System: Orbitron by Sebastian Stoff / Satellite tracking easiest ever!

I update the satellite TLE data everyday from.. http://www.amsat.org/amsat/ftp/keps/current/nasabare.txt

Hope this is helpful to everyone.

Cheers

Dave

I saw it once, just by chance i had looked at heavens above the day before and made a note of it, but i completely forgot about it. So i just stepped out the door on my way out anyway and right in front of me, there it was. It's so much brighter than every other satellite, a joy to watch. I probably looked a bit of an idiot trying to 'run after it' into a place not entirely covered by streetlights, but it was worth it :)

Hi I have seen the ISS a few times. I use Heavens Above to locate times and location. It is a very impressive sight now as the solar panels and reflectivity make it eay to spot. I have observed it with my 7x50 binos and the form is well defined.
