Gordon, I'd be very surprised if those two aren't compatible. I always thought the EQ3 and CG4 were the same mount?

Yeah, but the CG4 is slightly different, tubular steel legs, dovetail saddle etc, Not sure what else has changed. As far as i know though they are the same. I think a CG4/GOTO would make a nice grab and go setup for a little 'frac

would make a very nice setup with an 80/102mm ST or 80ED. Or even a 120 ST.

Ok The Synscan EQ5 goto conversion kit arrived this morning from Modern Astronomy.(I think they may still have stock)

Motors fit straight on the Vixon GP-D2 with no problems apart from Vixon`s single bolt fixing which does not help with gear alignment. I had it up and running in under and hour. Kit even includes grease for gear lubrication and the necessary tools to do the job (screwdriver and Allen keys) Motors are quiet and pretty fast when set to full speed. First impressions are good. I`m glad I did not go for Vixons Starbook S.

Ace......my upgrade kit arrived this morning from FLO (thanks Steve). I've been worried it won't fit the Vixen mount.......but you answered that question for me :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:
