Pushing the limits of my afocal set up

Got set up ready for some Toucam shots of the moon when it gets a bit darker.

Decided to have a play with trying a 2x barlow on the end of my Nikon 5400

with a 40mm eyepiece afocal in the 200mm F6 reflector.

These are a couple with the camera set at full optical zoom through the above setup.

Never got very satisfactory results using shorter focal length eyepieces so these results

have pleased me no end given it's still a bright sky :)

Thanks guys

Kain, the camera's held by a thingy mabob, my hands are too shakey to take

hand held shots. :)

Nice tweak Jamie, thanks

Just after I posted them, I thougt I should have joined them up. :)

Really pleased with this, it's giving me almost Toucam magnification but with

less fuss 8)

I have the same setup and just discovered last week that a 40mm is by far the best EP for it

Blinky

It is, I've tried quite a few but always come back to the 40mm.

I think the difference is (with my kit) that the 40mm has it's lens right at the top of the

eyepiece which suits the Nikon.

In a 32mm I have, the lens is a good 4mm or more lower and the spacing between this and the Nikon's

lens causes problems. :)
