Had scope out last night evostar 120 eq5 (left avatar) 1st viewing, clear night for a change, the moon was blearing!! coming up in the east, i sneaked out of house at 11.00pm dragged the eq5 out on to the launch pad, got the scope on with a bit of fumbling on the dove tail!! had a go on Cassiopeia high in east, double cluster ngc 957 and....wow always impresses me this, took a while to orientate it though the up side down finder scope!! which was awkward to look though has the star diagonal was in the way had to keep moving it on the locking collar, so i could get my head in. had a go at m1o1 above pan handle but still not seen, even had the galaxy ace phone up with google star map, which is very good and accurate. no luck. looked at perseus which always reminds me of a saxaphone (not tonight though! and then up to auriga, hoping for m37 38 but too low in sky obscured by a tree, had a go on moon wow it was blinding though the evo, out with moon filter, and.......the wow factor really crisp and sharp good detail, still a bit blinding though. by this time it was 1pm and i was tired and fumbling around dropping things now, the £20 light pollution filter ended up in the grass, found that so decided to pack up, took me nearly half hour to put the scope away and other stuff. and crawed off in too my warm bed.

did you get the e-mail from telescope house offering 10% over the bank holiday, what a joke, read this, this was the e-mail they were sending to customers,
Telescope House Discount Weekend!
Dear Customer, thank you for your continued support! As previously discussed, your discount Code is 6612 and will be active from Midnight tonight (Friday 1st June) and expire at Midnight on Tuesday 5th June.
We hope you enjoy the Diamond Jubilee celebration weekend!
Important Additional Information!
Our telephone lines and showroom will be closed from Saturday 2nd June 2012 and will not re-open until Wednesday the 6th June.
Over the bank holiday weekend we will not be able to operate our usual live stock file (we will be at home with our feet up) and so available stock will be on a first come, first served basis. This means that we can’t guarantee that all orders can be fulfilled when we return. If for any reason we cannot complete your order we will notify you and refund your payment immediately upon our return. So please ensure you place your order early.
Due to the large volume of orders that we experience over our discount weekends we will not be able to guarantee any delivery dates during the following week. With the transit of Venus taking place on June 6th 2012 we would hate to let anyone down.

yeah, we seem to miss all the good events in uk, either there on the horizon out of view or the weather is poor. i have not yet seen any of the meteor showers due to poor weather.

hi Isabelle, good job well jealous,i have canon eos 300d and still cant get Saturn not on a still image that is. Some one on here had a trick of putting the camera in a tube so the lens move freely, then puting the tube in to focuser or, barlow to get the mag for bigger image,i was looking at a sony compact other day 15mp ccd chip, video option, £89 ish. your getting better at this now isabelle. yours paul.

ah ,i have some solar film coming tomorrow, i need to mount it on some think for my mak 90. Bit of head scratching, need some sort of drum 104mm to slip over the ota.
-
yeah ,i had to enlage mine up a bit, hence a bit pixel. using adobe photo shop, the image was small, and that was with mak 90 with x2 barlow on t ring on eos 300d.
-
hmm yeah priced them up well expensive!
-
hi Isabelle, yeah did not look that good, on the 5th here in uk, but last night 6th it was really quite big here very orange, i have seen a Pic on Facebook in Athens and it was massive!
-
hi, good read. interesting.
-
hi, yeah i would have been happy with you picture, and what i spent on the camera i could have had a compact 15 mp ccd for less than i paid for the eos!! i did research on the old eos and people seemed to plug them, so i got one. the camera is usable for every day photography so will not go to waste.
masssive fire ball last night.
