  1. I personally use a Williams optics 2" dielectric diagonal with my Starfield which comes with a 2" to 1.25" adapter. I actually use the Baader 2" to 1.25" clicklock instead of the adapter. I like the 2" as for wide field I can use my 30mm UFF. At the end of the day it's what suits you personally.
  2. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ˜‚.
  3. Same here. I have my phones set to night mode with a high warm setting 24 hours a day. I have gotten used to this and find it far easier on my eyes. When using the Starsense on night mode (red) I just adjust my phones brightness to suit the conditions for my observing site.
  4. The Starsense has a red display which I use at night. I feel that I also need to reduce the phone brightness to make it dim enough.
  5. Unfortunately I don't trust much that comes out of the BBC so it's the MET weather app for me. I've found it to be reasonably accurate over the past few years (for my area at least). I've found the map for cloud cover to be pretty accurate.
  6. I would narrow mine down to 30mm UFF 17.5mm Morpheus 12.5mm β€œ. β€œ 9mm. β€œ. β€œ 6.5mm. β€œ. β€œ I take it that barlows etc aren’t being counted.
  7. You don’t have an AZ5 mounted on the steel 1.75” tripod. It’s the mount that’s called AZ5 not the standard tripod.
  8. No idea. That’s a strange looking AZ5 mount πŸ€”.

    Hello again

    Welcome back to SGLπŸ‘‹.
  10. I only do visual observing and thoroughly enjoy it. I get great satisfaction and tracking down my targets then viewing them to try and tease out more details. I tried AP but it wasn’t what I was looking for in the hobby. I may dip my toes in to a bit of EAA down the road with one of my telescopes as all the complexities of processing isn’t for me.
  11. Exactly, the 17.5mm is 395g alone and with four of them that’s going to be over 1.5kg of eyepiece weight alone. Add the weight of the turret and you have one heavy rear end for an 80mm frac. If I placed four of my Morpheus eyepieces in the turret those single screws would induce nightmares I’m afraid 😱.
  12. I personally wouldn't trust 4 x Morpheus in the Baader Q turret. It's only got one screw without a compression ring and was designed primarily for the BCO eyepieces.
  13. I used a splitter cable on my ASIAIR plus for the EAF and filter wheel.
  14. I haven't been out in about six weeks due to cloud cover and rain. I know that it will pass though so it's push through attitude for me. I really need to set up a small G and G setup for those short breaks in the clouds.
  15. I'll stick to a dew shield. I've seen umbrellas used in daytime to shield the scope from direct sunlight but never heard of them being used at night.
  16. The only internet access required is for the initial installation of the app and to download a somewhat large data file. After this it’s completely stand alone.
  17. Great capture Andy πŸ‘. Nice sharp image with bags of detail clearly visible.
  18. How do you align the phone with the view in the eyepiece?
  19. Yes I'm positive about this. For some reason when my device was updating I had to enter my Starsense code twice for it to work again. I then was told by Celestron that I had two code enteries left. They did inform me that if I ran out, I could obtain additional codes by submitting the purchase receipt.
  20. You can use the single code five times meaning five devices or changes.
  21. Nice captures Kostas πŸ‘. I will wait to they appear at a more appropriate hour before giving this a try.
  22. Hi HeinzπŸ‘‹ welcome to SGL.
  23. Here's one from FLO for a 16" SCTπŸ‘‡ The one for the 16" is Β£132 though.
