    Hello

    Hi CFarVT. Welcome to SGL
  6. Did anyone get to see the meteor shower last night. I woke up at 3am to clear skies went to get the dob out of the shed but it hasn't cooled down and the secondary mirror was foged up and I didn't want to wake the wife and boys up by using the hair dryer on it. So I found myself just standing their looking up at the sky watching one after another shooting stars just amazing the high light was seeing 3 at once fingers crossed for more clear nights. Dave
  7. Hi michelbechara. Sounds like you've got the same scope as me I'm using the 14mm es82 works very well . I couldn't afford the extra 300 euros to justify the extra 10% fov. Dave
  8. Hi Paul . I wear these when I'm fishing 🎣 ment to keep warm down to -50 but I've only uesd them as low as -20 and they keep you warm but not as cheap as Mark's. Dave
  9. Great report John. I've only seen the owl nebula with the UHC filter I've now got a O-III filter and it's ment to be clear tonight can't wait to get the dob out at last🤞. Dave
  10. Great report kon. I still don't see any colour when I look at Orion but I've only seen it twice maybe (if) I get clear skies I'll keep checking. Dave
  11. I've got a solid tube dob brought these from amazon keeps the spiders out good
  12. Hi Owen. I can't help you with the make your buying but there was a thread on here that shows how big and heavy they are.
  13. Hi cajen2. I just checked x3 barlow and an 8mm ep would give you 281 magnification but your exit pupil would only be 0.53. Dave
  14. Hi cajen2. Can I ask what ep's you would be using in the barlow. I have a ×2 barlow and using an 8.8mm ep would give me magnification of around 350 ,I still new myself and don't know much about your scope but would a x3 barlow be a bit over powering. Dave
  15. I sent an ep from Ireland to a fellow SGL member in the UK and he had to pay way too much in customs and vat
  16. Hi kon. I got this book before buying turn left at Orion it has helped me find alot of dso's with my dob hope it helps. Dave
