  1. Its only a small boat so not being able to afford a lunt, is this any good, Solar Scout SS60-DS 60mm H-alpha Solar Telescope.
  2. Hi all. I'm hopefully selling my boat tomorrow to fund more astro stuff. After giving Mrs S some pocket change , and buying the rest of the ep's I want I was wondering what to buy next. My current set up is . 12"skywatcher dob. Opticstar 127mm f9.5. Skytee II mount with pillar and 2" tripod. ZWO120 mc s. And hopefully all the ep's I need. I was thinking about a mount for tracking , I want to spend about 300 /400 euros because I want to save some for a scope for it and a holiday. Any ideas to help spend my money welcome. Dave Or maybe a scope for solar viewing
  3. Postman just delivered my new camera thanks very much to kon. I won't have to use my phone anymore. I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions on how to process the images as I haven't a clue
  4. Post some images if your skies stay clear. Hopefully mine shouldn't take to long to arrive but knowing Irish Post it could be 2 weeks

  7. Es 82 are quite good but I need a coma corrector for the 30mm
  8. I thought it was more like a climbing frame then a chair🤣
  9. Great shots kon. Any chance of showing me your setup I would like to try and take some images of the planets but only using my phone ar the moment. Thanks dave
  10. I've only managed single shots if I move my phone I lose focus, if I take 5 to 10 seconds I get star trails
  11. My new case has lots of room for some more ep's, I like to lay them flat to admire them😁
  12. Last night was the first clear night in a while, at 11.15pm it still wasn't dark I could only see Vega and Arcturus. It was the first time using yhe ES 82 degrees 30mm and its a beast weighing in at 1kg I thought I would have had balanced issues but the dob moved around perfectly . I didn't have much time to explore as I had an early start in the morning so stayed around Vega, I've been using the skywatcher 28mm since I've got the dob and was I in for a treat, I could see so much more with the 30mm stars where sharp but not to the very edge of the fov. It was so much easier finding objects with such a large fov I just pointed in that area moved around a bit and it was there, I moped up all the Open Clusters and Globular Clusters in that area, the ring and owl nebula, then m81 m82 and then m51, noticed on my phone there was a comet c/2017 k2 I've never seen a comet before tried searching for a while didn't know what I would expect to see (something like a photo) but had no luck finding it. It was a lot easier holding my phone over the ep for photo's and took this one of m13. Dave
  13. My first attempt at m13. 12"skywatcher dob, ES 82 degrees 30mm, samsung a52.
  14. Same old setup, but first time the weather has been good in a while and time to try out my new ep. Nearly 10.30pm and still light, will it ever get dark🙄 it's now 11.15pm and i can see 2 star's
  15. Hi everyone. I just brought these and was wondering if they would be ok to clean my ep's with, I have baddar fluid but no cloth so I thought I'd give this a try. Thanks dave
  16. That would drive me crazy not having them in order🤣
  17. The 1.25 ep's look lost in it🤣
  18. My new case arrived today, I don't want to destroy the pluck foam 😅. A few spaces left for the ep's I still need.
  19. DPD delivered my new case today a week earlier then I expected, it's bigger then I expected should be able to fit lots of ep's in this.
