    Thanks Chris. It has been of the few rare occasions that the weather played ball; at the end of this session the sky was all clouded up so I think I got lucky. It also helps that Jupiter is high up for us this year.

    Nice image and processing. Some feedback, it's little bit on the brown hue, some of the features should be a bit more blue. Excellent and smooth animation.

    Thanks Martyn, it shows how good the seeing was that morning. Manual tracking is ok, a bit fiddly. As my wife says ' I am a very patient man!'😂

    I put an animation together from the excellent seeing I had on 9 September. It is from 311-358 UTC. 8" Dob, manual, asi462mc, UV/IR cut filter and 2.5x TV powermate. Resized to 120%. Registax, Astrosurface and PIPP for the gif.

    Jupiter with GRS and Callisto animation from the excellent seeing we had on 9/9/23. It is from 311-358 UTC. 8" Dob, manual, asi 462mc, UV/IR cut filter and 2.5xTV powermate. Edited in Registax, Astrosurface and put together in PIPP.

    Thanks Stuart. It reminded me when I was capturing Venus back in June, super stable. I am sure there's more to these captures so I will be revisiting at some point. I hope you had a nice holiday. The weather has been nice 🙂.

    I managed my best ever Jupiter capture yesterday morning. It was as if the atmosphere had disappeared and Jupiter just stayed still. I have 1.5hrs worth of videos but these are my best 5 images that I derotated. Callisto might be showing some details too. 8" Dob, manual, asi462mc, UV/IR cut filter and 2.5x TV powermate. Resized to 120%.

    Excellent image. Loads of details and natural looking. GRS is having nice defined details too. This morning was exceptionally good. I have 1.5hrs worth of data to go through.

    Fantastic images Martyn. Excellent Saturn with Cassinin division all the way around 😉. The Jupiter is just stunning, colour balance and details.

    Nice and it seems that you have pulled more details next to the GRS but I wonder how the 11min would look with your normal approach. I found with my recent Jupiter images, a tiny bit of wavelets, sharpening with denoise in Astrosurface pull a bit more details without being too much; you could even use it as a luminance 60-70% over your softer image. Worth giving it a try.
