  1. Thanks. I was not aware of this time analogy, gosh! I like visual on Uranus and Neptune just because of the shear distance from us, and still we can see the disc.
  2. Thanks. I think I am burning the night candle both sides these days for bad seeing 😭. I don't have an ADC as I am hand tracking and it will be quite complicated to do it. I am looking forward to your images when you start.
  3. Thanks. Funny you say this, as I had a go at ISS this morning πŸ˜‰ but none of the frames were good due to bad seeing.
  4. Not the best conditions this morning. Although the seeing was stable, it was hard to get focus and it was coming and going (jetstream was overhead). Uranus faired better in IR showing the north polar hood nicely (IR false colour). Jupiter is ok with some details (5x120s derotation). My 8" Dob setup.
  5. ....Found it....☺️. Excellent image Martyn.i really like the processing. Natural but still a lot of details and even Io seems to have some details?
  6. Excellent!!! I need to go find your other post. The shadow almost casts it's shadow inside the GRS but it's happening at the edge. It would have been cool.
  7. Nice images and comparison Reggie. It was all cloudy for Saturn last night. Maybe tonight.
  8. Super smooth animation. The shadow is really sharp. How does the stacked images look?
  9. Thanks Chris. It's awful isn't it. I feel that the whole summer passed us by. There's hope πŸ€.
  10. Thank you, very kind. Let's see if we get a clear spell at opposition.
  11. I managed a few Saturn captures this morning before its opposition. Awful conditions but the IR helped with the Cassini division and three moons are also visible too: Tethys (on the left), Enceladus (on the right) land Rhea (below it). 7x120s derotation. The moons were stretched on original capture and have been overlayed on the final image.
  12. Thanks Reggie. If the weather plays ball, I can get a few more πŸ˜‰
  13. Thanks Nik. Yes around 6. There were very thin clouds passing. I had a visual as well and it was very stable, so although Jetstream is above us it's not affecting seeing too much.
  14. The conditions were not as good as yesterday but I managed a capture for the record of Jupiter with Europa and GRS just coming into view. 4x120s derotation. My 8" Dob setup.
  15. Thanks Stuart, much appreciated. I like the simplicity of manual but as my wife says 'way too much patience '. I hope you sort your collimation soon as tonight and this weekend is looking promising.
  16. Yes many of these and even more pushed. I think getting this natural feeling is hard although our eyes are drawn to the details we need to know our setup limitations. I have been really bad this apparition pushing it but I think I have found my medium.
  17. Excellent Saturn. You have got really nice banding on the planet and the rest is not overdone. The moons give it a nice depth.
  18. Thanks Simon. I wish we had more good runs rather than sporadic. I think there is room for getting more details if I could get more captures.
  19. Thank you. I think it is getting smaller; I have read similar reports from others. I should look at older captures for compariosn.
  20. Thanks Mark. Good time to do it this year as it is high up.
  21. Thanks Martyn. I am very pleased how well it came; i went through over 10 iterations yesterday to get to this result. It is so easy to go overboard.
  22. Yes give it a try this year as it is in favourable position.
  23. Thanks Maurizio. It is not as difficult as it sounds it just takes a bit longer and a lot of patience πŸ˜….
  24. I had a go at Jupiter yesterday morning but seeing was quite weird; it started really awful between 4-530 and then it became all stable for 20min before the fog and clouds came. I messed a lot with processing yesterday, mostly over sharpening it. I think this has a nice pleasing appearance with details still coming through around the GRS (happy for your feedback). 4x120s derotation. My usual 8" Dob setup.
