  1. 167 would be amazing. That’s getting up to my limits as I’ve only been to 200. Just got a 1.6x barlow and hope to also have a bash with that tonight. It’s looking promising and mars will be sitting high later. Good luck. Dale.
  2. That looks very seriously good. I’ve got my set of eyepieces but I’m very tempted to get a Morpheus to try one out. Definitely something pulling me in with these. How many do you have, I think I read you have 2 others?
  3. I will probably end up the same in the long run. There’s always the next purchase eating away at you with the “what if”. How do you get in with the Antares? Will it do me justice?
  4. Expensive overcoming weak links. I’ve no excuses now just myself 😏
  5. Congratulations, it’s quality. You will be sure you made the right choice when you open the box. Make sure you have a good case for it and I always put a cap with desiccant in the end after each use.
  6. Quite simply it does what it’s supposed to really well. It’s very solid, well machined and black anodised. You can get extension pillars if you need extra height. I use mine with an 102 f7 and don’t need to counter balance which makes it quick to set up. I only use it manually and have no intentions of putting tracking or anything on it so I can’t answer that for you. ive had it 8 months and not looked at another mount since so that must say something good about it. When I was looking to buy it I couldn’t really find many reviews or information to be honest. I took a bit of a chance I suppose but I’m very glad I did. I consider it a top end grab n go mount and it doesn’t take much space up in the house. I define much prefer it to eq mounts.
  7. Nope. Wish I had it yesterday as I had some planets on display. I popped it in the diagonal and it doesn’t stick out a long way even with an 13E. Really can’t wait to see what it’s capable of.
  8. Well I ended up getting an Antares 1.6x for my ethos. Deciding factors were it’s smaller in size and weight and gives me a really good spread of magnifications. It’s almost like having 2 sets of eyepieces the way it pans the mags out. It’s rated quite well on here so I thought I would give it a try.
  9. One of the nicest ep’s to use. Let mine go when I got the 13E but there’s a part of me that wants another Delos 14. Wise purchase.
  10. Just arrived and I’m quite excited to be honest on what this can do as I will now have another 6 magnifications. Bring on Mars.
  11. Thank you for the information. When I think about it you make sense, I was seeing L/R reversed so the close to planet moon black spot about 2 thirds in would line up with where the sun was.
  12. Looked out the window and some gaps in cloud showed planets. Excited I set up ASAP out facing south. (It’s been a while). Put a moon filter on my 4.7E and aimed at Jupiter. I thought I had a bit of dust on the lens but carried on anyway. I could only see 2 moons. The longer I looked it became evident That the dust was black and realised as steady views came it was one of the moons moving across the disc. First time I have seen this so very pleased. Also almost touching the planet to the left I could see another moon appears the longer I look. Moved to Saturn and things were a little wobbly but once it settled I could see the planets shadow on the back of the rings. Mars was now above my hedge and at 150x I could see dark patches on the lower half and brightness at the top so maybe I was seeing ice at last. Very small but very nice to see at random opportunity. All in all well worth the dashing setup. I can go to bed happy with what I have seen.

    Hello

Waiting is frustrating and photos through the eyepiece I find difficult. I hear good things about the 130 so it must be a good price of kit. The eyepieces can be improved on no doubt but it’s got you up and running that’s the main thing.
  14. It’s good to know they work well together, I just hope they don’t squabble in the case once the lids closed.
  15. Yes you are correct. I do have to crank the focuser for those two. Could work out quite well in the end 👍
  16. Thanks. Nice to have some backup on my reasoning.
  17. Those were my thoughts with reference to the 8 & 6. Hope I can get them to focus.
  18. No problem. It’s all about finding out what you need to know.
  19. I’ve been “making my mind up” on which way to go with my ethos. A power mate 2x or an Antares 1.6x. I chose and ordered the Antares as it gave some really useful magnifications. Have I done the right thing??
  20. I was led to believe the reason for selling on here was to help fellow observers obtain items at very reasonable prices. This is not eb••y. Personally if I see things for sale for more than 70 percent of the new price I just laugh. I have seen adds at 85 percent of new price lately. That’s not even a VAT discount... really 🤣
