  1. Hi guys! Im unsure where this post belongs but I'll start her. Im currently finishing my new setup and I took almost everything apart and cleans it and now I'm in the process of cleaning my ZWO RGB filters and my Baader VIP barlow. My problem is that I can remember Wich order the lenses go.. I only took out one lens from one side (I think). But when I look in closely it seems like there is dust and or scratches one step further in.. so I guess I'll open it up tonight and clean again, but this I want to make sure that the order is right. I can't seem to find any blueprints or info online on how to do this. And I'm unsure what that particular Barlow lens technology is called.. seems to me that there is 3 lenses. 2 of the are round/concave and the third I'm not sure of yet. Pleas help me guys. I also want to ask what is acceptable amount of dirt/dust and scratches on filters and Barlow. And how do I clean them and with what. Right now I have microfiber cloth, brush and different types of glasses cleaners/clots and some hand desinfection fluid. 85% alcohol. Please help
  2. Hi! Its been some time since my last post now. I finaly decided to build my own pier/mount for my neq6 pro. I also sold my trusted ZWO ASI174mm and i just thought i would buy the ZWO ASI290mm. Turns out its not that easy.. After scouering the forums and using formulas and calculators i find that for the c11s f10 its impossible to get sampling with 2x barlow in fact the 290 is worse than the 174 for my scope.. So im really lost here. what should i do? When i use the calculator it says that 290 is ok for planetary with 2x if i have a good mount but it leads to over sampling. and on the zwo website it is some pictures from the chile obeservatory where they use 290mm on a cassegrain with f17 i think it is, the pictures a crystal clear... I attached a screenshot where i use one of the baader combinations to acheive f17 with my scope. if i assemble my barlow to acheive f17 and buy the 290mm will this work out good? or is it best to not use barlow at all? Is it still okay with the 29mm than? I really need help guys..
  3. I had the same issue with graininess.. And i can quit say why it happened. But it does sometimes.. I think it might be something with the align points. Or at least somethings going wrong in the autostakkert part of processing. I used to have skymax 180. Nice scope, but in my opinion, too little aperture for planetary photography..
  4. A few more processed images of the gas giants.
  5. Thanks alot. I think i over exposed toomuch tough.
  6. Brand new c11 and neq6prowith, bader barlow about 2x with the trusty ZWO ASI 174mm, ZWO filters and wheel produced this images. A few nights use and the ciruict board got burned.. waiting for the new circuit board. It should arrive in a few days. I hope its not to late to image my 2 favorite planets. Iamges take from Norway in June 2021.
  7. Hi again. This happens to me the first times to. The things is that your grey looks like a red channel. But they all look the same. So I think you light have gotten just read and IR if that is your other filter. If this is rgb that you would have a green that I smiliar to the red but different and the blue one almost always is very very dark and almost no detail. Really hope you find it out buddy:)
  8. This is combined in photoshop. Seems you have only shot through 1filter buddy..
  9. So you did not use gimp or photoshop to combine the final images to rgb? I can try with photoshop when get home later
  10. Hmm. When you set the exposure at let's say 10.80 or something like that it will automatically suggest a gain by highliting it. Are you understanding what I mean?
  11. A few roughly processed from tonight.
  12. I uUsedFirecapture recommended settings for gain and exposure and ignored histogram levels. I did 90sec pr channel Celestron C11, Neq6 pro mount, Baader VIP barlow ZWO asi 174mm ZWO filters at about f/22
  13. Wow! This is nice! Just wondering if it's really 1.4x? Seems to bigger. I used to own a make 180 before I swapped it in for the c11 I had about 2x barlow on my mak180 and I can't rember it getting this big. Anyway! Really nice image
  14. I use celestron c11 with ZWO 174mm and baader 2x vip barlow. Thanks alot for comments:)
  15. I have not had time to process this untill now. This is just 90sec pr channel. No derotation.
  16. Hmm. I think I'm missing something here. Do you mean 20min separated over like 5 captures so 5reds 5 greens and 5 blues? If thats what you mean than I understand. But I don't understand how to derotate a 20min long clip:p
  17. Do you actually mean 20min.pr channel? How do you derotated a video on 20 min??
  18. Sl about 7min on each channel? Man you are a really smart man! What do you do for a living?
  19. The one on how you calculate the max recording time. I did not quite catch that.
  20. So I should not target certain histogram values? Or follow the recommended max capture lengths???
  21. I use 70-90% on R, G and B when I image Jupiter. For saturn and Mars I use: R 70% G 50% and B 25-30% How are you guys doing it? I use those settings after i read an article on london astronomer: https://www.thelondonastronomer.com/it-is-rocket-science/2018/6/7/a-quick-guide-to-planetary-imaging
  22. Ok I will try this tomorrow! Thanks alot guys!
  23. So "count" the pixels over my mars globe? Or the whole image? If the whole image than I should not be using roi right? Hmm I will check the link:)
