  1. Amazing shots! Where do you live? And that camera is a color camera right?
  2. Hmmm. I used 3x drizzling on all of them. I don't think I did any other resizing. I rotated them in regisrax. That sometimes review then I think.
  3. Thanks alot guys. Yeah the two big guys are very low. I'm lucky to be way down south. My friend up north has midnight sun. He dont eaven see stars right now. I hope to get a few more soon with the 1.6x barlow from Antares.
  4. As the topic says. No barlow was used this time. First time I ever seen or shot Mars.
  5. I decided on the Antares 2" 1.6x barlow. I hope this will do the trick. Regarding the moon in i think that the image (at least some of the filters) were not in perfect focus. So when combining the three it is not 100% properly aligned. But we will se when i get the new barlow and we get some good weather. I really hope it will be a good august. Maby even some good days in september
  6. I use a monochrome camera so atmospheric dispertion is no problem for me. For me it would be to just get a little bit more clarity on my images. But I will read the post and I will look in to the comma corrector:)
  7. Hi! I hope this is the right place to ask. I own a skymax 180 and i use a celestron 2x barlow right now. this gives my scope f15 and i use a ZWO ASI 174mm . This works ok if the conditions allow it. My queston is this. Will the powermate 2x offer anything more. Will it help the quality or will it stay the same. I can seem to wrap my head around this. Please help me. I atached a few of my latest results. I know i did Saturn wit hway to high % on the histogram..
  8. Hi. I own a skymax 180 and I made an artificial star from a led flash light with aluminum foil and a needle hole. I unfocused the "star" and it looked likte this. Is this a good enough collimation?
  9. Well yeah. They are low.. but I also found out I'm used some wrong settings:( I kept my histogram at close to 100% 😂🤣 I think I should have keept it max 70%
  10. A few more images of Saturn and Jupiter with the new ZWO 174MM The smaller one of jupiter is without 2x Barlow I'm actually surprised that there's is not much difference in quality, I must be doing something wrong. But any way I'm pretty proud. So much bad weather I Norway these days and we are so far north that I think this turned out pretty good.
  11. Hi guys. I was out imaging the other night and I checked the collimation on a star. The pics attached here is what it looked like. I think it's a bit off but I'm no expert. I also include that nights planetary results.
  12. I guess your right.. but they look as it's not even lrgb.. it looks more black pink yellow and green..
  13. Hi! I am leaning against buying this kit it's a camera with electric filter wheels and lrgb filters from zwo https://www.highpointscientific.com/telescope-accessories/astro-photography/ccd-cameras/zwo-asi174mm-monochrome-astronomy-camera-w-1-25-mini-electronic-filter-wheel-new-1-25-lrgb-filter-set-asi174mm-kit2 My concern is the filers. They don't look good in the picture. If someone can shed light on this please do so. I also am planing to use a Barlow on my scope so it will be f30 . That camera has nice big pixels so its almost perfect for my scope with 2x Barlow. But I wonder, how will the camera perform without Barlow? All help I appreciated!
  14. thank ypo Thank you! But i can not make sens of it? How do i know what camera is suitable? And what is the color scal in the bottom. When chaning the binning it get bluer ther higher binnning i chose is this good? i dont understand it. hehe sorry
  15. just noticed that it is a mono camera and the closest color camera is https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/product/asi294mc-color and has 4.63 pixel size. would this work on my scope with 2x barlow?
  16. Hi! I have tried to do the math for my scope. If i use a 2x barlow on mye scope which 2700 f15 it would be f30 with the barlow. Than i calculated that it will need pixel size of 6. so the closest camera i found was this one: https://astronomy-imaging-camera.com/product/asi174mm It has pixle size of 5.68. Am i right here or did i do some thing wrong in the math? Im really new to this, All help is much appreciated
  17. Hi! More of my/our favorite celestial objects. Setup is: Skymax 180 on heq5 pro, ZWO ASI 120 MC-S, sometimes I use 2x Celestron X-cel barlow and I got the Revelation Astro focuser.
  18. Thanks! That means a lot. I'm really looking forward to mid July. I hope to get some details on jupiter.
  19. Sat_012341_pipp_g6_ap20.tifHi! Just wanted to share my photos so far this season. I live in Norway so it's not great conditions ever for planetary. Setup is: Skymax 180 on heq5 pro, ZWO ASI 120 MC-S, sometimes I use 2x Celestron X-cel barlow and I got the Revelation Astro focuser.
  20. i think i will have the silver piece drilled big enugh to fit on the telescope. and than drill four holes from the sides and use screws to hold it all in place. i will post pics when done.
