Hi!
I'm new here so this is my first post.
My name is Christian and I live in Norway. I own a Sky-max 180 MAK with a Heq5 Pro mount and a ZWO Asi 120MC-S. I use it for Lunar and planets only.
I have previously owned a Skywatcher 200pds reflector.
I have gotten a few ok shots of the moon but I struggle with the focusing. I can rember it was so hard on the 200pds. So I have started the search for a focuser but I find that the price is just too stiff for an electric focuser, so I now browse through manual focusers now.
I came across this one on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-1-10-Dual-Speed-Focuser-with-Base-Adapter-for-Refractor-Type-Telescope/184019328985?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item2ad8681fd9:g:2zEAAOSwPsBdvTtX https://www.ebay.com/itm/2-inch-1-10-Dual-Speed-Manual-Helical-Focuser-for-Reflector-Type-Telescope/133033705672?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20190917065201%26meid%3Dacc1de0a8dd445a2ab54be937b56f4dd%26pid%3D100935%26rk%3D6%26rkt%3D12%26mehot%3Dco%26sd%3D233266291873%26itm%3D133033705672%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2332490&_trksid=p2332490.c100935.m2460
Do you guys know if it is any good? Or will it fit straight on the sky-max 180. I read in here some where that the threads on newer sky-max 180s have standard SCT threads.
And last, is it worth it? Will it help a lot for achieving focus? I might also add that I know about the long cool down time for my scope so I have that on mind. I als wondered if it is even doable to make air vents in the sky-max 180?
Looking forward to your answers guys, I have read al ot in here since I started my journey about a year ago and I know how much knowledge you guys have!
