Further to my suggestion about fleece lined trousers I forgot to mention that in really cold weather a pair of thermal long johns under the fleece lined trousers is exceptionally warm, in fact sometimes they can get too warm.

Thanks again for your reply. As I will only be using AZ mode it looks like it just needs the latest firmware installed. All I need to do is find somewhere that explains how to do it 🙂

I think part of my problem is my app needs upgrading as your screen looks different to mine. In settings my version is 1.17.1 so I will try and find the latest version. I just noticed that you have yours in EQ mode, would that make much difference to the menu screen ?

You could try fleece lined trousers as they are very warm and are easily to wear.

I would be obliged if anyone could help with this problem. The information in the app says ‘erase previous alignment data for a fresh start’ but after searching all the info I can’t find any information on how to erase the previous data. Another question please. When using the 2 star alignment method do you have to manually point at the first star ? Thank you.

I am a bit confused as to how a Goto tracking mount can know how fast or slow to track an object when using different magnifications. The reason I am asking is the last time I was looking at Saturn with my push to 8” Dob it was obvious how much quicker it moved with higher magnification and I am confused as to how a mount can perform this task.

Dob 200P 2” eyepiece adapter

I checked the drawtube and it does not have a thread. I have located a 40mm extension adapter which I will order and see how it goes. Many thanks to all who replied with all your helpful suggestions. -

I am thinking of trying a 2” eyepiece in my Dob but the adapter that comes with the scope was missing from mine. Could anyone please let me know what length the adapter needs to be. Thanks in advance.
