  1. Second session of the day, solar this afternoon and Jupiter this evening, just managed an hour and a half before clouds interrupted play. NEB belt continues to be more disturbed than the SEB with at least three blue festoons running into the equatorial zone. Seems to look like a bay of brighter creamy colour coming from the NEB in the east and a dark barge in the North of the NEB. Seeing started of OK but became mushy and hard to keep focus after the first 3/4 hr. It was worth going out even for a short session.
  2. Had a nice solar session earlier on this afternoon. Two large tree prominence on the south Eastern and North Eastern quadrant. Counted 28 filaments, mostly small but a few longer broken filaments. C1.9 flare from AR3519. Several active regions in both Calcium II k and hydrogen alpha.
  3. Sorry you've still not got any satisfaction from your scope. Some more tempting image's from my 60mm DS lunt from November 2023.
  4. Thanks josefk, much appreciated, yes, the Hydrogen Alpha full disks were amazing. November saw more filaments than spot's.
  5. Thanks Jeremy, much appreciated. I must say my daily observations have been well down this autumn, not known weather like it, mostly cloudy, rain and winds so at least I got something. December is looking the same unfortunately.
  6. Cak, 100mm bresser, 0.5 reducer, lunt cak b1800 module and Zwo Asi 178 mono camera. HA double stack and ZwoAsi 178mm mono camera.
  7. Hope your recovery is swift, live long and prosper Mr Spock.
  8. Finally a little clear early this evening. Had a couple of hours looking at Saturn and Jupiter. Saturn was difficult being low down just above my hedge. Could see cassini devision and the equatorial band. Jupiter had some amazing detail at times. Could see at least five festoons from the NEB, two yellow looking lighter areas from the NEB into the equatorial zone. The SEB was rather bland until the GRS came into view. SEB had a large disturbance where the proceeding GRS began. Saw Io go into eclipse from the upper west. Much better seeing than the previous session several days ago.
  9. Lot's from the postie, well, via birthday pressies, lol. Not all things astro but quite a few. Usb heated gloves, 2x barlow lens, dew ring for the C11, dew controller and the meow book by Patrick Moore. The 10inch tablet will come in handy too, lol.
  10. I was out twice last night, Saturn wasn't to bad but anything past the scopes native f10 was a mush. I could see the cassini devision, the creamy white equatorial band and darker hood. Next was Jupiter. Tried just at f10 but seeing wasn't the best. Couldn't get a proper focus, jumping in and out of focus. Anyway, thought I'd go in doors for a while and see if things get better. Went out again at 22.30UT and things had improved and even a little more by 23.00UT. Tried Jupiter at f10 and f25. Details weren't great at f10 but not bad at f25. At f25 I seem to be able to focus better on the moment's of good seeing. Jupiter showed quite a few festoons coming off of the NEB. SEB showed knots and STeB, SSTeb and NTeB, NNTe were visible. The northerly and southerly zones were prominent too. Nigella
  11. Thanks, much appreciated, I'm still practicing, lol. Much better colour.
  12. Lovely, I'm going to be clouded out until around 11pm when it's supposed to clear. Happy GRS observing.
  13. Thanks Jeremy, much appreciated and encouraging. Nigella
