  1. Just had a hazy but nice couple of hours imaging the sun in ha and cak. I was even able to get the CaT out, 😆
  2. I can also vouch for the 4tronix remote version. Got them on all my day scopes. I've also got the SkyWatcher electronic focuser on my night scope but usb controlled via pc.
  3. Used the new mount for some solar yesterday. It's an amazing mount. Tracking the sun even at f20 in HA and Cak. No drifting and responsive in both RA and Dec. Smooth buttery movements while balancing the scopes. I must say I'm impressed.
  4. Had a couple of hours observing Jupiter. Seeing only average but could make out three festoons from the lower part of the NEB into the equatorial region. Later on they seemed to be followed by a white oval within the NEB. The SEB was fairly regular with distortion to the top and bottom. Seeing deteriorated so called it an early night. The EQ8-R Pro mount tracked Jupiter really well throughout the session. Only used f16 tonight with a 1.6x barlow. Nigella
  5. Well, not night but day. First outing with the new mount. In a word, "just WOW" well, two words. Tracking absolutely amazing.
  6. That's different from the one I have, is it at it's brightest? Perhaps cover with a sheet of tracing paper and then you'll have to adjust your exposure time, histogram and make up some flat's of different lengths of exposure.
  7. Just thought I'd post about the new Cq350 through the mount cabling. I have the following, 1. Mount power cable. 2. Hub powered USB cable . 3. Hub power cable. 4. Ecmod cable. Hub 1. Two power cables from mount hub to focuser. 2. Two usb3 cables from mount hub to two Zwo Asi 178mm cameras. All working and controlling from mini pc into warm room. I've tried to show the cabling flow in the pics.
  8. That's what I use too, it's brilliant Nigella
  9. Just had these two short cables for powering my focuser's from the new Cq350 mount hub. Sooo disappointed it didn't contain snow. They shouldn't say, " may contain snow" if there's not a chance, but I guess their get out clause is, "May."
  10. Welcome to the forum, just have fun with your new hobby and develop your understanding and you'll be a winner.
  11. I'm happy to announce my zwo asi 178mm cameras work through the mount usb3 hub. Has to be powered via a 5v power adapter. Just having to order two shorter USB cables.
  12. Well, almost done, looking forward to using the mount for my triple scope solar RoR. Will probably do a different post regarding how the mount performs at a later stage. New flooring all put down.
  13. More progress, cemented the internal rod area and putting new flooring down today. Hopefully back up and running next week with the new mount.
  14. Took a look at the moon too, phone pics of screen. Not good at the moon, but think it's called "The Straight Wall" in the first pic, lol.
  15. Out again on Jupiter, some nice well defined festoons, counted at least four possibly five from the bottom of the NEB. Think I could see four white ovals in the SEB too. Phone pic of screen attached, not great pic, lol. Added an image from Skysafari. Probably the festoons that I observed and the white ovals.
  16. Cut off the protruding bit's of rod on top.
  17. Had another two hour session on Jupiter. Not as good seeing as yesterday although I could make out four festoons from the NEB into the equatorial zone. At the top of the NEB I could see three distinct white ovals. The SEB seemed not as mottled as the NEB although at the southern edge there seemed a few darker ovals. There was also a few dark spots along the SSTB. I also had a look at the moon. Some fascinating features which I can't name, not much clue about these. Haven't look much at the moon before. I have a new lunar atlas for Christmas so I'll go and take a look.
  18. More progress with raising the hight of the pillar. Are these rod's to long, lol 😆 Got to fill up with concrete tomorrow.
  19. Just in from a two hour session on Jupiter. Some nice detail coming through tonight. Oval disturbance in the NEB with a few festoons encroaching into the equatorial zone. Equatorial band evident. SEB broken by the GRS preceeding the spot with several wakes proceeding the GRS and several disturbances behind it in the SEB. STb darker just preceeding the GRS and continuing below and behind. Several small ovals evident in the southern polar region. I'm hoping the imaging session will confirm once processed.
