  1. I’m saving for the AZ Pro as well Ade ?. Probably have enough by my birthday mid year. Can’t wait. Great news #FLO
  2. I have the equinox 120 with feather touch and I love it. I use it on skytee 2 no problem. Haven't used it on AZ4 or 5 though. Since using my 80mm Altair ed-r with star discovery goto from my back garden in suburbia light pollution city (great grab and go set up) I have really found it helpful for double stars and the less easy to find objects. Now I want alt az goto for the equinox but they don't come cheap. Heard mixed reports about the az eg5 got and have been a bit put off by them Considering the ioptron az pro with gps, which for similar money seems to be much better spec. Options are limited for this weight of scope in az goto. I'm saving hard to get one of these though... @cloudsweeper Hope you enjoy your ed 120 as much as I love the equinox, whichever mount you choose to use with it.
  3. Just got back. Wish I had known about you..... had an ok time with some clear nights. Oh well maybe next time...
  4. Love this book. I've just been through it and marked all the objects it has in the lunar 100 on the actual map so that I can identify them more easily at the eyepiece.
  5. I'm going to attempt do this over this year. Steve
  6. Good point I did debate this with Steve at ENS. The reason I'm doing it this way is because I'm utilising the Meade screw holes for the short dovetail bar and they are on the bottom of the scope. If I use the side mount, I'll either have to attach the dovetail using rings or jubilee clips or change the orientation of the scope so that it is side on which I'm reluctant to do. Knighty2112 makes a good point about balance though.
  7. Just got this skywatcher 120 equinox (thanks Mick) and skytee 2 mount (thanks Steve @ ens). Deforked the Meade etx 125 (not a frac I know ...)
  8. Don't hold your breath! Enjoy it when it arrives though! I think everyone on here is waiting for a break in the clouds though Ade.
  9. Nice to see you finally got them. You will be amazed I promise!
  10. I am an lucky enough to enjoy both aviation and astronomy. I have a very understanding wife ?
  11. I'll be there. Sounds like a great workshop.
  12. Just wanted to say great options for the talks. Can't wait to get there now. Looking forward to a great weekend of meeting new people, learning new things and observing the skies.
  13. I have an etx 125 and don't get any slewing on start up. The handset just beeps after a couple of seconds and then goes into alignment mode. If Michaels suggestions don't work, Are you going to SGL star party? If so you can try my handset and see if it works with your scope? Alternatively you could try and update the handset software here https://www.meade.com/support/auto.html you will need a serial connector to connect the handset to a pc, you might have one already with the scope, if not, I can send you a picture of one and you can buy it. Hope that helps. Steve
  14. My first time at SGL too Ade. Hopefully see you there.
  15. Thanks John, It'd be great to meet up. Drop me an email on xxxxxxxxxx if you want to touch base to arrange something nearer the time.
  16. I have booked. This will be the first star party I've attended. Looking forward to meeting people and to seeing some stars! Not to fussy about where my pitch is but if there are other newbies, I'll go where they are.
