  1. No, PRISM is entirely self-contained and standalone. In my remote observatory, all I have installed is: PRISMv10, ASCOM and my equipment drivers. This is one of PRISM's most powerful features, it absolutely needs now other software, none! Thanks Hamza, so does Prism have a guiding software built in then? The reason I ask is that you demonstrate the above image with no guiding using the NOVA120, but sadly many of us don't have mounts as good as that so need to guide?
  2. Thanks Hamza for the extra info, I haven't signed up and downloaded yet, just wanted to check that we can setup multiple equipment profiles and set up individually? Does the equipment need to be connected to set up Is there a choice of platesolving or are you aligned to a preference. Can I also ask if you can use PHD2 as an option for guiding? Thanks.
  3. Wow Hamza, what a beautiful image! I'm going to look at your software and see how it fits my needs, do you have a forum for discussing technical issues and advice? Have a link to your YouTube Videos? Thanks for taking your time to reply to this subject.
  4. Beautiful piece of kit, if only they made it to carry heavier systems.
  5. Hi Rodd, Just a small comment, currently I use a Lodestar 2 with my RC F8 which is 1625mm and I use an ST80 guidescope, absolutely no problem guiding with it, however I am switching over to a Moravian OAG and to go with my Esprit 80 & 100, only as an experiment when my new G2-8300 arrives, total backfocus of the Camera, OAG and FW is 55mm which is perfect for my Esprits+FF. NB. Just to add to minimise flexure I use a Skywatcher Guide Mount, that lock everything up brilliantly.
  6. Interesting bit of kit, as SteveA said and I agree if I were FLO I would remove the video of the demonstrating looking at the sun with no filter on, really quite silly to promote that as some people will think it safe to do so, even if FLO just put in Bold under the video that you need to have a filter otherwise risk frying your eyes.
  7. So Happy-kat you are using SharpCap to capture your time lapse, have you found that the best for the time lapse?
  8. I'm actually doing exactly the same thing with the same lens but using a QHY5L-11C camera. I purchased off fleabay a couple of the 5mm extension tubes and just screwed them together, not sure if it will be enough but they do other sizes as well, so there should be enough sizes to get it to focus. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/UK-FAST-SHIP-C-CS-Mount-Lens-Adapter-Ring-Extension-Tube-For-CCTV-Camera-5mm/272950505030?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I also purchased a 4" Dome to go over it from this link: - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Indoor-Outdoor-CCTV-Clear-Acrylic-Camera-Dome-Housing-Cover-Replacement-UK/152638376140?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I got the lens for £30 by making an offer, so don't pay the full price: - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fujinon-DF1-4HB-L1-Fish-Eye-C-Mount-Lens-with-Lens-Protectors-Brand-New/252289716694?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 Sara, if you remove the existing extension collar, then these wills crew straight into the C Thread, I made the mistake of not checking how the lens would screw in, until someone on here put me right. I plan to get a small project box from Maplins next time I am out that way and mount it in there. I only plan to use it when I am imaging, firstly so I can keep an eye on the clouds and secondly so I can capture the night sky. What software are people using for the time lapse?
  9. You can buy an adapter if the standard fittings doesn't work: - https://www.primalucelab.com/astronomy/sesto-senso-33mm-adapter.html Having paid for two Moonlites that came in over £600+ and two lakesides that came in at £300+ I have to admit that if I had seen these first then would have bought them as I automate everything so no need for a hand controller. The Lakside motor is agricultural and I like to fasten my dew controller to the outside which you can't do easily, the Lakeside controller is significantly;y better than the moonlite standard controller. If I buy another scope then will deffo go the Sesto route.. Ray does it look like it will fit your Esprits?
  10. Had confirmation from Peter at Lakeside that the Moonlite and the Lakeside pin outs are the same, so no reason to think either temp control won't work with either.
  11. Where are you launching that SXCamera Setup app from as I can't find that on my system?
  12. I know you have fixed this but FWIW I'm using this with my Lodestar X2: - I'm using the Starlight Driver 12.30.10.402 dated 27.08.15 Driver file name sxAscomInstaller-v6.2.1.17140.exe Hope that helps?
  13. Did you manage to get a FF for it? I've also been messing with my focal distance to get it to as close to 55mm as possible, just waiting for clear nights now to test it out.
  14. You won't regret the Esprit at all Gav, I was so impressed that I also bought the Esprit 80 as well. I have a moonlite motorised focuser on the 100 and a lakeside motor on the 80, the later using the original focuser and if I am honest the actual focusers are very comparable, the moonlite has the edge on looks but the handset controller of the lakeside is better. HTH
  15. Might be a good shout there Ray, I'm also changing over from APT to SGP because of the autofocuser regime seems a lot more advanced, might need to tap your knowledge if I get stuck (If that is OK?)
  16. Your using the 16200 Ray which correct me if I am wrong is exceptionally critical, I believe with the 383 and my imaging chain that I can't do anything better than what I have, apart from human error and that my focusing could improve which I am working on.
  17. As I said this was just a calibrated image in Ha that I have done nothing else with, I thought that it was better to provide something like that. No spacing issue as bang on the measurements quoted for it.
  18. Hi Gav, Yes I do use the SW Flattener, but haven't noticed the field any flatter because of it.
  19. Here's a quick grab from my screen of the PacMan in Ha I did at the beginning of January with a full moon, it has been calibrated but apart from that nothing else has been done to it.
  20. If you use the lakeside then don't buy a new box just get like I have for the 80 a new motor and mount for just over £100 and switch between them, in fact I am going to fit the motor to the 80 this evening and hopefully get imaging tomorrow night if it stays clear.
  21. I have the Esprit 100ED and have been blown away with the quality, simply amazing, the focuser is excellent and for £300 you can motorise it within your budget if you look around. I was so impressed that I went and bought the Esprit 80 as well.
  22. I have had mine hypertuned but not used it yet as I only use it when I go to dark sites for widefield imaging. Whilst in France in June I was getting 450s un-guided and the attached shows how good this little mount is and this wasn't hypertuned then, so how good will it be now. The image is unprocessed (Just reduced in size for here) at ISO 160 F2.8 14mm on my Nikon D800, it wasn't even well balanced as I had left the counter weights at home. The only thing I always do is use my Polemaster for a polar alignment
  23. Had this before, as mentioned have a look in device manager what Com port has been assigned then go into the toolbox and assign the same Com port, should fix it.
  24. Credit where due... I ordered another dew heater from Barbara at W&W Astro Dew Heaters and whilst out for a short while one of my boxers (The Mischievous one) decided to chew the package and destroy the heater. I made a quick call to Barbara just to check the polarity and she very kindly said she would send me a replacement free of charge! Originally bought of fleabay at : - http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/W-W-Astro-dew-heater-40-cm-for-5-telescope/192323865878 But you can purchase direct from her at the following: - W&W Astro www.dewheater.com shop@dewheater.com Tel: - 07449065886 Couldn't ask for better service :-)
  25. Thanks, so will you temporarily bolt the pier down to the concrete before marking up the pier adapter? Maybe it's me being paranoid, my mate who is sorting out the design doesn't want to machine elongated holes into the top of the pier so that the top plate can be adjusted perfectly, but I think he's being a little too cautious on the stability front.
