    Am i missing the point my celestron C5 and my st80 attaches directly to a tripod without any probs as has a thread in the dovetail? What travel scope are you using?

    Same for me here in France put a stop to me and buying from the classified section. What was ironic on another note MIL received a photoframe from the UK of the grandkids UPS charged 40 pounds to deliver from the UK to France (glass content) this was in March then 2 weeks ago MIL received a letter from UPS that a charge of 30 euros is due for payment. The irony on a item of 40 quid.

    Could be the flip mirror causing the problem can you try without it and using extensions?

    Could be back focus issues as the 2 camera's have different settings the asi183 is 6.5mm asi120mcs is12.5mm how are you attaching the camera's to your scope?

    As per @John you will not achieve focus without those adaptors whichever route you go down either 2" or 1.25" Andy

    that won't work you need the 2" adaptor as well or put the eyepiece into the 1.25" to 2" adaptor that came with the scope as per my previous images. as per your final image the eyepiece needs to come out approx 40mm so if you have the 2" adaptor then you should achieve focus

    the above for 1.25" you use the 2" adaptor for 2" eyepieces and the 1.25" for 1.25" eyepieces/Acc never both at the same time

    "Do I need an alternative spacer? The corrector is attached directly to the camera via the supplied adapter (approx. 10mm)" In the manual it states: The M42 female flange to the sensor is 17.5mm. You can reach 55mm back focus distance with the 21mm and 16.5mm extender included in the camera package hope this helps although i don't actually own this camera
