  1. It all depends on your expectations... A dedicated modern video camera for astro use is far more sensitive than our eyes, but costs alot. Maybe you are looking for very hightech equipment like this: http://nightvisioncameras.com/ ?
  2. A dedicated video cam maybe very expensive. It is not so easy to get good results without spending loads... http://www.astro-video.com/
  3. Or use ep projection, preferably with a zoom eyepiece. The Baader Hyperion zoom is really well suited for that. Many 'electronic eyepieces' are available... Waldemar
  4. I appreciate the thought and gesture behind that gift, but maybe it would carry more value if one would make a certificate themself... some loving energy and time would be put in it, instead of giving money to a conartist. Maybe I have been out a bit more than you assume... Of course you cherish that gift from your loving daughter, but that was not the point I was making. Waldemar
  5. There are no dumb questions, just dumb answers... Yes, a HyperStar from Starizona is needed for that. The optimized imaging circle will be about 25 mm, hardly big enough for APS-c. It is not easy to get a HyperStar working well... needs quite a bit of very precise collimating. The very steep lightcone of the HyperStar set-up presents a new set of problems...The total package: f10 original ; f 7 with the reducer and ± f2 with the HyperStar is very appealing... and quite all round, I think. Not suited for full frame, though. Waldemar
  6. I use my DS Lunts on my TMB 92SS ... awesome!!! It is quite a deal to get things fine tuned... patience and perseverence are key elements in this. Would like to buy a Baader Mark V binoviewer, but they are not available for the coming time...bummer. Instead I bought a 2nd hand Maxbright. I would like to get some suggestions for eyepieces, preferably zooms. Any advice is really appreciated. Thanks in advance Waldemar
  7. To me this sounds like a cable and/or connector problem. I had a thing like this happening with a Vixen mount and it turned out that one of the very thin leads of a strand was touching a wrong contact in the serial connector. It may also be a broken connection, so the signal chooses a wrong pathway. Maybe the connectors can be openend and checked. The metal housing ones are screwed together, so that is not a big deal. Moist in the connectors maybe a cause as well.
  8. So...this is a scam... Who do they think they are... Do they own the stars???? Totally incredible to me... I would like to see their proof of ownership. You can only sell what you own This is scavanger behaviour. Making money with phony items over somebody else's misery.... disgusting
