Interesting.... The ports you show are normally located on the HEQ5pro head..... What exactly is that control box - you mention power and EQMod???? Is this an upgrade to an EQ5 mount???

Helen, 2sec would have been a better starting point... The Vega spectrum although well positioned, is blown out and over exposed. Looking in the background you can see some fainter spectra which show some detail... The attached (colour) example shows what you should be looking for. Not sure what the problem may be, but don’t think it’s windows associated. I use WIN10 (1903) with my PC’s with no issues.

I use CdC but similar process. Connect up your mount, double check the comms port. Open the planetarium program, look for connect telescope, open and select EQMod ASCOM HEQ5/6, select properties and ensure all the settings are correct. then connect the telescope... The EQMod control screen should come up. (I've had to use the sim, not in the observatory at the moment, but you get the idea)

Which planetarium software are you using?

The NEQ6pro has been my work horse for the past eight years. I've no experience with the NEQ6R, so can't comment. There are obviously other capable mounts out there, maybe others can comment.

Which planetarium program will you use to interface EQMod? I use Cartes du Ciel. Just open the planetarium package and "connect to telescope", set it to EQMod Ascom HEQ5/6 and put in the required data.

I successfully run a C11 @ f10, with four cameras(!), spectrograph, eFinder etc etc on an NEQ6pro for spectroscopy. Needs five counterweights to give good balance. No drama, no issues.

As an alternative to Registax wavelets, I found ImPPG very effective. It has a good tutorial. http://greatattractor.github.io/imppg/index.html

Stu, It's the chemical makeup up of the glass, it can be hydroscopic and absorb moisure. The older green photometric filters had the same problem. I thought Lunt were automatically replacing failed filters at no charge????

Rich, If re-positioning the mount is repeatable and accurate then it would certainly be worth trying. you never know, you may be lucky. Ken

Check out the above thread for some ideas.

The lunt blocking filter design uses a Schott BG38 blue glass element to replace the original ITF designed element. Coronado still use an ITF design. Both unfortunately are prone to deterioration, thought to be caused by moisture ingress. It's recommended that the BF be stored in an air-tight container with silica gel when not in use....

CLR has also been used to "recover" failed Lunt ITF filters.....

John, not sure what you mean.... The zero setting of the EQMod polar alignment is to have the meridian at “180” deg and setting East West at 6 hr RA.....
