  1. How about a Milenium Falcon coffee table? Where else do you put a large scale MF? ?
  2. Makes me wonder what other space themed models are lurking in SGL members homes. ?
  3. Will be very nice when finished. ? Have a Lego one about half that size in the lounge.
  4. Part of a model of a Rocketdyne F1 as used on the Saturn V ?
  5. Good mod. Wish Skywatcher would fit better saddles or at least have optional saddles. Replaced the stock saddle on my AZ-EQ5 GT with an ADM one although had to fit a new puck to the mount as well.
  6. Not the cheapest way but Skywatcher do a serial to usb cable. Is there a local Skywatcher dealer? https://www.firstlightoptics.com/celestron-mounts/sky-watcher-synscan-usb-to-serial-rs-232-cable.html
  7. Had the same problem recently. Turned out to be the serial / usb adaptor that was the problem updating the driver didn’t help so bought another adaptor and no problem.
  8. From here. http://www.wdsltd.co.uk/product/3394/hand-knob-bakelite-steel-screw-wds-8148/ Part No: 8148-22118 John
  9. Just did a quick count and I have eight devices that receive Netflix. ?
  10. If you have a blu-ray player or set top box or games console most allow you view Netflix in case you don’t have a smart TV.
  11. You just need the AR90 f8.8 to complete the set. ?
  12. From Amazon. Price varies depending on colour/pattern. Really comfy round the neck as well. ? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0751ZY6LF?ref_=pe_3187911_248764861_302_E_DDE_dt_1&th=1
  13. A simple but useful item. Padded strap for my new bins. Has quick disconnects so easy to remove the strap plus has two little expandable pouches that will convienently hold the lens covers so no more where did I put the lens covers. ? John
  14. New pair of bins. ? Nikon Action Extreme EX 7x50 Had thought about the 10x50 but decided to stick with the 7x50 as I find that more comfortable to use. Feel good in the hand and not too heavy. Nice semi budget bins. Fully multi coated and Bak 4 prisims and waterproof and fogproof. 7x48 actually but closer to 50mm than most budget bins. John
  15. No it’s The 180. Super pleased with the lunar / planetary views it’s giving which is what I bought it for.
  16. Teak garden bench for this evening. Forecast is for heavy cloud but clear skies instead. ?
  17. Search for “Gas Lift Bar Stool” and you should find something suitable although without castors.
  18. Opticstar AR90s f/8.8 Wanted something not too expensive for my white light solar set-up and decided the Opticstar AR90s f/8.8 would be a sutable. Light weight scope and can be used on a photo trpod setup or my AZ-EQ5 GT. Had sold the Bresser Messier scope I had been using but decded I really needed a dedicated white light scope and the Opticstar was cheaper than another Bresser when you get the dual speed focuser option and a more suitable focal length. Added a small carry handle bought from WDS Ltd. Why aren’t carrying handles standard equipment on all scopes?
  19. Price has doubled since then but this was in VG condition. ? John
  20. Little old book. Lost my original copy when I moved so picked one up on eBay.
  21. As promised some proper pics of Big Red set up on the mount. ? Now just need some clear skies to fine tune the collimation which should be pretty close as is but inevitably having taken it all apart and put it back together things won't be spot on. John
  22. Brass sideplates made for the WO diagonal. Suits the scope now. Will take some proper photos of the scope set-up on the mount tomorrow. ?
  23. Next job is to make the brass sidepieces to replace the CF ones on the WO diagonal to make it look more in keeping with the rest of the scope.
