  1. My last run on Saturn seems to be the best of the runs from this morning! Ive pushed the processing as much as I dare but all in all pleased with the result at this low elevation!
  2. Cheers everybody for the kind comments! Thanks Steve, I took the first run on Jupiter around 02-09-48 utc! The images consist of 2000 each R.G.B frames for Jupiter & around the same for Saturn! Cheers Martyn I did indeed use the ir 685 for the last image!
  3. Its been a while, ive not posted any images of the planets for maybe a couple of years now but glad to be back out on these warm evenings! All images taken with a C9 & skyris 236 M camera! Thanks for looking!
  4. love to see the moon in this phase & you captured very nicely indeed!
  5. My first Jupiter this year, very difficult at this elevation! Taken with a C9 & skyris 236m!
  6. As above lovely clean Saturn, cassini division very well defined too!
  7. Some good detail showing through Peter, well done!
  8. Hi Geof Nice to see some uk images, & very nice work for this elevation, ive not been out in a long while must try to get my mojo back!
  9. I agree, ive been using one for a few years now, not sure its always worth the effort of setting them up to be honest! If seeing conditions are poor I find them a complete waste of time anyway!
  10. Never heard of one breaking david no matter what the payload, if its seems ok guiding then stick with it , a friend of mine on this forum uses a C 11 + O A G + train on his neq6 & produces some ist class images!
  11. Hi David I don't know what you want to use it for but I have no problems planetary imaging with my lx 200 12" sct + chain which is around 20 kg, so short exposure imaging or visiual fine, but if you want to use it for longer exposure imaging then maybe your well over the payload limit!
  12. Hi Pete

Regards to your question ( what is micro contrast ) not sure about image analyzer i know its a free download but dont use, it so im not sure!

Micro contrast will bring out only the fine detail in the image, leaving the larger detail untouched ( ideal for bringing out the detail in jupiters belts its very subtle too!

Its found only in paid software i beilieve but could be wrong, i use helecon software & cs6 for this application, but is availaible in topaz labs & other editing programs! Hope this helps Pete, Regards Simon!
