Observatory solar panels

I was skimming through Facebook earlier when I saw this on my newsfeed:

Looks like they sell second hand solar panels, inverters, batteries, the whole lot. They even have a power calculator that'll help you to work out what size panels you'll need.

Hopefully someone will find it usefull.

The more I look at the page, the more information I find! They've got a 12v 120w kit on offer for under £190 with everything you need to be up and running off grid. At that price, it looks like an obsy is going to need to be built to put it on!

I am useing all solar panels to run every thing save me running a wire all the way up the garden.

Definitely an interesting one to tuck behind my ear for later, that.  I will be wanting to put some panels up for various projects at some point.

I had the immense pleasure earlier this summer of happening to see our electricity meter start turning backwards thanks to the ones we already have on the house roof.

I breached the subject of building an obsy in the garden to my other half, when we start looking at houses to buy next yr, and he doesn't like the look of the domed ones at all, but rather the shed/ wendy house looking ones.  And when I mentioned electrical hook up, his eyebrows nearly went through the roof, and I had the lecture of utility bills, but then I said could we not look into solar panels, which would provide power for the obsy, and lo and behold - this thread has turned up.  Deffo gonna show him this when he finishes his shift at the hospital

A good idea for running extractor fans to keep the place cool in summer so it's not like an oven when you open the door.  Could maybe even dehumidifiers perhaps (?) buy using the solar to trickle charge a battery that runs a dehumdifier?  I am sure the collective genius of SGL can come up with a solution!
