My first attempt at imaging the moon

Here it is.

Taken on 21/03/11, the moon had just nicely risen and still had a little bit of an orange glow about it. I was very pleased with the result, better than I expected to say I had quickly set it up on my camera tripod!

Yup, very nice indeed. If you have a graphics programme I think it would stand a bit of sharpening but go easy!! Less is often more. The colour is beautiful.

Olly, I put it into photoshop and sharpened it once. Twice was too much so I took it back to one.

At 300mm or longer? Do you recall what aperture you used?

(Sorry for all the questions - I love your image and would love to try myself but all my moons are hugely over or under exposed)

No problem. It was shot with my 600mm evostar 80ED which is at f/7.5

Then I have cropped into the image.
