M42 Ha

Well heres my go at M42 in Ha, and its damn hard to process I have found!

I have taken short 45 sec exposures for the core but im unsure on how to combine them??

Anyway this is 4x20mins in Ha

Need to sort out flats, but this was my longest exposures yet, im just happy it all works

Great! I love the thin tendrils of gas outside the main nebula.

If you have got Photoshop then here is a tutorial for combining different exposure lengths. Scroll down to" Advanced Image Processing with Photoshop"

Tis a very good set of tutorials, i used most of the methods in there, especially the M42 layering method you need.

That is lookin mighty fine.

I was going to say that the "Trap" in the 1st image is burnt out but you have sorted that out in the 2nd image.

Yes using the layer masking technique, it works very well.

I like the later mono tries as well, nice detail in them
