Its fun isn't it?! The DMK series are cracking little cameras. (I'm resisting getting a colour one for planetary.)

With the 80mm PST I get the 5X AE powermate tack sharp and the 4X Televue one likewise with the Skynyx 2-0 and 2-1, but this time of year F25 is about as high as I would like to go

And by tack sharp, I mean tack sharp..

With the DMK41 (4.65 micron pixel pitch) f/25 is about as much as is needed to capture all the information resolved by a perfect objective, perfectly focused in perfect seeing. I usually work at around f/20, even that's hard in winter.

I have next to no solar viewing experience but it strikes me so far that first thing in the morning is great here. That is just after the best planetary and lunar seeing so seems logical.

I hadn't thought about extending the focal length but sure, why not.
