Toucam Pro Raw Mode?

Having looked around the Net today i found this website talking about a Raw Mode for the Toucam Pro http://www.astrosurf.com/astrobond/ebrawe.htm .

Had anyone tried this?

Looks interesting esp if you can get that little extra Resolution out of the camera..

Read a few reports from people that have done it! Some people say that it makes a difference and somke say make it worse.

Ao not really sure whether it's worth the hassle or not!

It's done in Software, changes the epprom settings basically reprogrames it the one thing i am concerned about is getting it back to normal if it doesnt work out.

From reading the superbly translated page, it appears that you can back up the original settings before blowing the new ones. However, I can't say I would be too keen!

Andy, what's the cheapest filter/wheel set to use with SC1.5? Wasn't planning on using my B&W mod for DSO imaging but having seen your results on M57 having a change of mind.

When you do the B&W mod do you also do the 'amp off' mod? I only ask because I don't think Pat carried it out on my Toucam.

Well, having seen the difference in the images above (and elsewhere), after Chrimbo I am going to take the plunge and ask Andy to upgrade to the b&w chip, with cooling.

I'm also going to use the RAW software thingy mentioned as well.

Will keep you duly informed of progress and results.....
