heres some recent results

had sum fun lol

used my 4x image mate on Jupiter,

given my 127mm Mak focal ratio a boost from 11.8 to 47.2

avi looked horrible, but registax and heavy wavelets,

seem to bring out lots of detail, albeit very noisy and blurry

think with better conditions, and bit of practise

i could def get a gud result at this focal length and ratio

more details click on pics

2nd pic includes image from 18.8.10 for size/detail comparison

Superb! These are really great images, and show what a 127mm MAK is capable of doing. Better than the results from my 200mm Newt (I guess I must try and stay up later)! You must have had pretty good seeing?

The images are great - I had no idea that you could achieve this with 127mm aperture. Can you upload one of your raw images to give an idea of the gain from stacking?

Many thx for all comments guys, looking at these today i'm still well pleased with result,

sorry for delay but been busy last few days

heres some raw frames and 1st stacked result before further processing was done see 1st pic above for final image

STRANGE frame 303 of 1200 avi has bright spot i have uploaded frame before and after, which dont show anything ?

Any ideas ? Pixel burnout or something else maybe ?

this is on orig avi but only 1 frame,

there are dark marks which is dirt/dust on camera

bright spot can be seen on 3rd picture in North polar region

can anyone explain this please thx

1st pic - stacked result 1000/1200 frames, wavelets strong, b4 more processing, final pic 1st pic above

2nd pic frame b4 bright spot

3rd pic BRIGHT SPOT

4th pic frame after bright spot

Simply brilliant James! Seriously impressive at those focal lengths! What shutter and Gain settings were you using? Clearly you have become a wizard with the processing love the luminance and colours!

cheers Stuart,

shutter exposure was 1/25 brightest setting

then adjust brightness and gain

think about 60-70 for both

was using craterlet for 1st time and it doesnt have any actual values so just estimating gain but was fairly high

see pics just uploaded for better idea of how it looked on laptop

got lucky with processing this time i think

many thx

Thanks for your info James. I've been going too low with gain recently down in to the 40s and that's with a 1/33 exposure. My last images were way too dark.

I use the Wcctrl camera control program with Craterlet it has all the settings you get with astrocapture and works with any capture program. Just make sure you have the fps set at the same value on Craterlet.
