My name is Alan, a retired engineer living in Belper, Derbyshire. I’ve been interested in astronomy all my life. After an absence of 6 years I have now returned to the ‘hands on mode’ of this fantastic hobby. Spent this year acquiring new equipment and my current ‘project’ is a ‘roll of roof observatory - pier foundations just completed.

Hi Alan and welcome to the forum.

I'm always jealous of anyone who has an observatory as it makes things so much easier. Any chance of sending us all a couple of pics to witness how you're getting on with it, even a small report on how you set about constructing it would also be great to read.

Hope the weather improves to help you complete it soon!

Welcome Alan. Building an observatory was definitely my best move in astro kit. If you have any unresolved details about the shed roof, them PM me. I'm not too far away and some of my right/wrong efforts might help to point you in the right direction.
