... Get a cooled CCD with Ha and OIII filters ... Damn, I said it!!!

Seriously though, you've captured a huge amount of detail there with a camera that was never intended to be used like this so hats off to you! Just shows you what can be achieved with some invention and a lot of patience.

Is 7 minutes the magic number for this beasty? Is that because of noise or ?

I used to regularly take 10 / 15 minute subs, but found that I couldn't get enough imaging time to smooth out any noise or sat trails during stacking, well I could but I prefer to move on to another target :D

7 mins is a great compromise for the brighter DSOs at f/5.5 with the 80 / reducer. I'm off to Kielder in October and I plan to try a night or two at 15mins (weather permitting). It was first light for the camera cooler, I only finished it on the Thursday before the SSP, so I've yet to see how it performs in really cold weather.
