The image was taken at 2.45am or there abouts i was fighting of clouds and fog for around 15Min's whilst taking the images also had to be quick as Orion was heading for some tree's (On some of the frames the leafs blocked out parts of the FOV) . I had been observing for 20 Min's and taken back by how well it looked in the ED80 esp under the really poor conditions hence the quick image .

I can see the ED80 will be fantastic for M42 this year and can't wait to have a proper pop at it

I too looked at Orion early this morning for the first view of the season.

Posted a visual report as I couldn't use the HEQ5 mount for pics.

It's good to see Orion back.
