Hi everyone.

I rediscovered astronomy about 8 months ago when I wanted to show my oldest toddler the moon and planets so I bought an Explorer 130 newt. Aperture fever soon took hold after my first glimpse of Jupiter's moons. I've found SGL to be a very informative and friendly forum and I've already benefitted from the wisdom on it. For example, fitting good quality castors onto the base of a dob turns out to be an inspired idea.

Welcome Alex, the SGL is indeed a great place for advise and to hang around while waiting for the clouds to clear off, which they haven't done to often in the last weeks at my place here in Surrey :D.

Hi Alex,

Welcome from not too far down the road in East Grinstead.

I put lockable castors on the bottom of my dob - makes an enormous difference when there gaps in trees to take advantage of. :D
