MaCross
This is my fourth attempt at creating a star trail from the lightpolluted backgarden. It is about 38 minutes worth of shots at f4, 24mm on a Canon 5dmkII. (note to myself... dont trample round the cam while shooting )Single exposure, the Pleiades hiding in the trees and Andromeda just visible
Dangerous-Dave
Aweseome result Martina. I am guessing the moon is giving the sky a blue cast there, but judging by the number of stars you've captured I don't think your light pollution is too bad up there. What length subs? 30 seconds? MaCross
Cheers Dave!Yes, the moon is just out of the frames towards the left bottom of the pic. They were single 32 second subs, hence the tincy gaps

brendant
Stairtrails is an excellent piece of software for this purpose, only inquiring in case you had done it the hard way in Photoshop - good to hear you took the easy option :-). I wish I had your dark skies though as a fantastic image for the exposure.Brendan

ashenlight
these are so professional looking, you've done an amazing job. I particularly like the contrast between the dark blue sky and the fire coloured branches in the foreground

Unfortunately after 38 minutes dew started to form and I had to abandon the shoot.... 5dmkII with 17-40LHere is one I prepared earlier tonight, worth 48 minutes, I moved the tripod before I checked for dew.... guess what? No dew was on the lens this time....doooohhh!5dmkII, 24-105L

MaCross
Well, Polaris has a very nasty street lamp sitting just under it (right at our fence), in fact I am surrouded by those things... This view (east) is the darkest part of my back garden sky
