M64 - The BlackEye Galaxy

Yes, I know this is well out of season but a few weeks back I found some subs of M64 so I thought I'd put them together. I really should have ticked the deringing option when I did some of the processing and the stars are a little egg shaped and there's even some vignetting amongst other problems but never mind. ;)

I honestly can't remember what scope this was taken through (it was last February/March) but it was shot with a Starlight Xpress H9 and was, I think, 8x 5 min subs.

Just look at it as a very early reminder of the joys of springtime galaxy imaging :)

Glad you found it James, It's a little pearler.

The Black Eyed Galaxy is a real favourite of mine.

So nice to see it, even out of season. I haven't seen a lot of it on SGL come to think.

Maybe there will be a blitz on it next time around.

You just teasing us now James, keeping images like this hidden away. Stunning detail in the galaxy core and outer reaches, you can always process the egg-shaped stars out a bit more if it bothers you that much. Cracking image mate.

Steve..
