Just wondering if any member here is from Ashford (Kent). I live here and would love to meet with likeminded Astrophotographers and Amateur Astronomers.

I don't know if you're familiar with the GoStargazing website, but it suggests there's an Ashford Astronomical Society that meets out at Woodchurch.

Welcome to SGL, here is their website. www.ashfordastro.org.uk You also have  www.midkentastro.org.uk  which l am a member of. A very friendly group which holds regular meetings with quest speakers and weather permitting a bit of observing after. We meet at Bredhurst Village Hall. Both have Facebook pages.

Thanks, I live a mere 15mins drive from Woodchurch Memorial Hall.  I will contact them and attend.

Thank you, Steve. I will look at both websites.

Can recommend AAS, they are an incredibly friendly bunch, I don't go anymore as we got rid of the car, and Woodchurch is impossible to get to by public transport.

We had someone get in touch about coming to us from North Wales* but didn't have a car - about 6 months later a new person joined who lived fairly close and was able to give them a lift. 

You could always ask and see. 

* only to Cheshire; asking about a lift to Kent would be silly. 🙂

Thanks everyone for the advise. Meanwhile, can anyone please recommend a campsite nearby which I can use for Astrophotography? If the site owner is accustomed to astronomers using the site, its a bonus.
