SGL4 M51.....That will teach me !!!

You know when you have to decide what to concentrate on and then you make a decision that you regret...........

At SGL i had decided to use the Dob and tour the skies but then at the last minute thought i could also image as well.Well i hurriedly set up and slewed to M51 as i havent imaged this in 2009.Set the ccd for 5 min subs and went off to the Dob.

I had a look after 40 mins and then decided that it wasnt focussed correctly (said i was in a rush) so shut the laptop down and packed up the kit.

After i got home i decided to look at the subs and see what i could salvage.........

So 40 mins on the ZS66 with a SX H9.

Tell you what amigo, the focus is only a gnat's off and if anything, it gives the image a little mystery. I like that lots .

There's nothing much wrong with that. The focus is almost there and could easily be tightened with a bit of deconvolution, and there's tons of depth in the background too.......leave it running next time

Cheers , i am now kicking myself for not just leaving it as it wouldnt of hurt to do so.

I suppose i could always think of it as a view through a Dob
