Looked around for some new objects and decided to go for this pair in Canes Vanatici. They're apparently pretty good visually too, easy to find as well as they're close to 4th mag star Chara.

The larger one (4490) is mag 9.8 and 5.6' x 2.8'.

Exposure was 10*5min L, 4*4min binned RGB at F6.3 with LX90/EQ6/MX716 camera.

Thanks,

Rich.

Very nice image Rich.

This is also known as the Coccon galaxy, and is very interesting in Ha.

There was a supernova visible in it last year, which I managed to image.

Looking at your image, it's now not visible.

Cheers

Rob
